Ta’Meka Gethers, MA, LPC, NCC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor based in South Carolina with extensive experience providing mental health services to children, adolescents, adults, and families experiencing complex behavioral and emotional challenges. She brings a strong clinical background in community-based mental health, therapeutic foster care, juvenile justice, and intensive family interventions.

Ta’Meka holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with a minor in Public Health from the University of South Carolina, a Master of Science in Individual & Family Development from South Carolina State University, and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from South University. Her interdisciplinary academic training allows her to approach treatment from a holistic and systems-based perspective, integrating behavioral health, family dynamics, trauma-informed care, and social determinants of health.

Her clinical expertise includes the assessment and treatment of trauma- and stressor-related disorders, ADHD, disruptive behavior disorders, anxiety, depression, attachment-related concerns, emotional dysregulation, and family conflict. Ta’Meka has extensive experience conducting comprehensive diagnostic assessments, establishing medical necessity, developing individualized treatment plans, and implementing evidence-based interventions tailored to client and family needs.

She has significant experience working with families involved in child welfare systems, foster care placements, and court-involved youth. Ta’Meka is skilled in engaging high-risk populations, addressing behavioral drivers within family systems, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including caseworkers, probation officers, educators, and medical providers. Her clinical style balances accountability with empathy, structure with warmth, and strategy with cultural responsiveness.

In addition to her clinical work, Ta’Meka is actively involved in community service initiatives within South Carolina, supporting programs that strengthen families and promote mental health awareness.
