Alex Ruz LMSW

Hello! My name is Alex Ruz, and I am a Licensed Master Social Worker providing therapy for children and adolescents. I have experience working with children in non-profit organizations and in the Charleston County School District, and this population holds a very special place in my heart. For the last 3 years, I have been providing therapeutic services for children and their families utilizing a trauma-focused lens. I believe that surface-level emotions and behaviors stem from an even deeper issue that might be too difficult to face alone, and that is where I would like to help. Whether you’re taking your first steps toward healing or continuing your journey, I will meet you where you are. I specialize in approaches such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and will utilize Dialetical Behavior Therapy skills to address the root of the problem and provide coping skills to assist with managing symptoms of depression, anxiety, and anger.
